This summer, the Sudbury & District Good Food Box Program will be applying its model for affordable fresh produce to a traveling pop-up market! The ‘Good Food Box MARCHÉ de la boîte de bonne bouffe’ will make short, regular tops in select residential neighbourhoods that are underserved by grocery stores. Funded through the Healthy Kids Community Challenge, the Good Food Box MARCHÉ de la boîte de bonne bouffe is working with the Best Start Hubs and the Sudbury & District Health Unit to identify market locations where children and families often gather, and where grocery store access is limited.

Come and celebrate Valley East Days with a community bike ride - suitable for all ages and abilities! Registration starts at 9:30 at the Greater Sudbury Public Library/Citizen Centre at 4100 Elmview Drive in Hanmer. Riders can join us for the following rides: 1. Families with younger children: 5.3 km   2. Novice/beginners: 12 km   3. Intermediate: 28 km   4. Advanced: 66 km

Please check your bike out to make sure it's road-worthy and bring water for the ride. Note that helmets are mandatory for this bike ride.

The Rainbow Routes Association, Jubilee Heritage Family Resources, and the Sudbury & District Health Unit have partnered together to bring you the 2017 “Stroll & Latch” breastfeeding challenge. This is a challenge to see which geographic area (province, state or territory) in the world has the most breastfeeding babies, as a percentage of the birthrate, “latched on” at 11am local time. Event details: 10 am - Stroller Walk starting from the South End hub through Mallard's Landing area (Stroller Friendly) (Please be there 15 min early to register) Light snacks and refreshments will be available after the walk. 11am - “Latch-on” challenge at South End Best Start Hub, 2650 Algonquin Rd (if you didn't join the hike, please make sure to be there for 10:45).
